Detailed description of insurance cover for tariff "Care Economy"

Why does the foreign guest need insurance?

Many foreign citizens who spend time in Germany, in the EU, Switzerland or Liechtenstein often have no or inadequate insurance cover. Unfortunately, illnesses and accidents cannot been tirely avoided and can incur substantial financial sacrifices. Regardless whether you are travelling privately or on business, the foreign travel insurance policy of Care Economy will cover the costs of any required medical treatment, accidents and liability.

Summary of benefits

We refund documented costs in case of illness or accident in Germany and all EU Countries for

• Out-patient treatment by a doctor
• In-patient hospital treatment (general class –multiple bedrooms – no coverage options)
• Transport to the nearest hospital and back
• Pain deadening dental treatment including simple fillings and repair of existing dental prostheses, max. € 300 per stay up to 180 days, over 180 days max. € 600.
• costs of return to own country for medical reasons, 100 %
• Transport in case of death of an insured person/burial costs up to € 10,000

minus € 25 own risk per insured case

Liability insurance

• Sum insured
  € 1,500,000 combines single limit for bodily injury and material damages
• Deportation costs up to max.
  € 1,500 minus 10 % own risk, minimum € 50.00

Travel accident insurance

• € 5,000 in case of death
• € 25,000 in case of disability

Important notes

• Insurance ends with completion of the 74th year of life.

• The insurance policy (page11) proves the insurance cover you applied for. In addition, you will receive an insurance confirmation and treatment certificates after processing your application.
• It is possible to extend the insurance cover. If the insured person is going to stay any longer than applied for, the original period of insurance cover can only be extended if the application is made to the insurer or its agent right before the original contract expires. In this case the insurance cover will only include cases that newly take place after the point of time the extension was applied.
• In case of extension of the insurance cover there has to be paid the differing amount of premium between the original, formerly selected period of insurance cover and the new one.
• Maximum length of insurance cover –including all possible extentions –is one year.

exclusion from coverage

What is not insured –exclusion from coverage – is listed under the AVB (general police conditions), tariff VB-CC-Eco 2002, §4, page 21.

For example:

• The insurer is not liable to perform in cases of illnesses and symptoms existing or known when the police was taken out
• Or the sequelae of illnesses and accidents treated during the last 6 months prior to the beginning of policy coverage

In addition to general policy terms, only the German version of this tariff is legally obligatory.
